SGA Election Went Off Without A Hitch

The race for Student Government Association offices is over and winners will soon be announced.

Applications for the campaigns for the 2015-2016 academic year were made available on March 24. The following positions are up for election: SGA Board of Trustees Representative, SGA President, Junior Class President, SGA Vice President, Junior Class President, Miss Saint Augustine’s University, Miss Junior Class Queen, Senior Class President, Sophomore Class President, Senior Class Vice President, Sophomore Class Vice President, Miss Senior Class Queen, and Miss Sophomore Class Queen.

An information session was held on March 24, 2015 at 7 p.m. in MLK Conference Ballroom to provide an opportunity for potential candidates to ask questions and for the Dean of Women and Campus Life Dr. Ann Brown to disseminate critical information about the election process.

Campaigning began March 30 for Miss SAU candidates. Campaigning for all other positions started on April 6.

All candidates that were approved by Dr. Brown addressed the student body with a speech at 6:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor of the MLK Conference Center. Voting took place on April 8, 2015. The winners will soon be announced.

The annual Miss Saint Augustine’s University pageant took place in Seby Jones Auditorium at 7:00pm on April 8th.
