It’s time to get your flu shot

It may still be warm outside, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to be prepared for the flu season. The Gordon Health Center is hosting its annual Flu Shot Clinic on the following dates: Friday, October 21 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and Monday, October 24 from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Students, faculty and staff are eligible for a flu shot, said Tim Stevenson, campus nurse.

The peak season for flu runs November through January, Stevenson said. “This is the prime time to get it,” he said “I like for students, most of all to be covered during peak season so they don’t have any issues over the break.”

Students’ school insurance and most other insurance policies, as well as Medicaid, cover the cost of the shot, Stevenson said, though he added that there might be a cost for anyone not covered by insurance, he added.
