Freshman cross country star sets new personal best

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 14) – Baron Freeman (Fr./Hampton, VA) of Saint Augustine’s University posted a personal-best time in the men’s 8K race at the ECU Pirate Invitational cross country meet on Friday, Oct. 12. 

 

Freeman ran 25:20.04 to finish first among Division II team runners and 16th overall. One hundred and one runners participated in the men’s 8K race at Lake Kristi course near Greenville, N.C.

 

Amanda Crawford (So./Brooklyn, NY) ran the fastest time for the Lady Falcons in the women’s 6K race. Her time of 26:37.34 was fourth-best among Division II team runners. She finished 59th overall out of 81 runners.

 

The Falcons and Lady Falcons will take a week off before competing in the CIAA Cross Country Championships in Salem, Va., on Oct. 25. The meet will be held at Green Hill Park.
