Lady Falcons whupped by Johnson C. Smith University

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 24) – Saint Augustine’s University fell 72-30 to Johnson C. Smith University in a CIAA women’s basketball contest at Emery Gymnasium on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Kiana Clark (Jr./Queens, NY) came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points for the Lady Falcons. Shankia Clark (Jr./Orlando, FL) had five points and five rebounds. Malia Rivers led three double-figure scorers with 14 points for the Golden Bulls (2-0 Southern Division, 9-9 overall).

The contest was designated as the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers game. Head Coach Montel Jones and his assistant coaches wore tennis shoes on the bench to raise cancer awareness.

After a six-game homestand, the Lady Falcons (1-3 Southern Division, 2-15 overall) visit crosstown rival Shaw University in a Southern Division contest at Spaulding Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 25. Game time is 6 p.m.
