SAU bowling places third in Southern Division at CIAA round-up

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 11) – Saint Augustine’s University finished third among Southern Division teams in the CIAA Bowling Round-Up, which concluded Sunday, Feb. 10, in Nags Head, N.C.

The Lady Falcons posted a 5-10 mark in the three-day tournament, which was held at the OBX Bowling Center. Three of their wins were in team matches held Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9.

On Friday, the Lady Falcons defeated Elizabeth City State University 623-601. On Saturday, they downed Elizabeth City State 605-560 and Chowan University 622-584.

In Sunday’s Baker matches, the Lady Falcons topped ECSU for the third time, this time by a 623-588 score. They beat Chowan for the second time 690-591.

Gia Minnis (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) was the top bowler for the Lady Falcons. She rolled an average of 133.80, which was 10th best in the Southern Division.

The Lady Falcons return to action on March 8-10 in the CIAA Bowling Event III. The tournament will be held in Fayetteville, N.C.
