Men’s basketball team helps Thanksgiving Food Drive for fifth straight year

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 27) – For the fifth consecutive year under Head Coach MarQus Johnson, the Saint Augustine’s University men’s basketball men assisted the Helping Hand Mission with its Thanksgiving Food Drive on Wednesday.

Many of the local residents at the Rock Quarry Drive facility were thrilled to see the Falcons, who helped take turkey boxes off a tractor trailer and deliver food boxes to families. The food drive received local coverage from ABC 11 (WTVD) and Spectrum News 14.

The SAU men’s basketball team includes Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC), Otis Hill, Jr. (Sr./Shallotte, NC), Rashad George (Jr./Raleigh, NC), Donte Edwards (So./Durham, NC), Marquie Clemonts (Jr./Weldon, NC), Miguel Brown (Jr./Wilson, NC), Geordan Walker (Jr./Durham, NC), Hirk Williams (Sr./Manassas, VA), Jerome Merritt (Jr./Hudson, FL), Gary Jefferson (Jr./Baltimore, MD), Vernon McWhite (Fr./Fayetteville, NC) and Aaron Cash (R-Fr./San Francisco, CA).

The assistant coaches are Hank Mattocks, Ray Martin and Andre McCollum.
