LAUREL, Md. – The Saint Augustine’s University women’s bowling team knocked down 7,524 pins, which was second-best among Southern Division teams and fifth-highest overall in the CIAA Round-Up at AMF Laurel Lanes this past weekend.
Nicole Sciortino (Sr./Raleigh, NC) led the Lady Falcons with a 170 bowling average in team matches at the tournament, which was held Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15. She rolled a 227 score in a win over Elizabeth City State University and a 204 score in a victory over Virginia Union University on Friday.
Hunter Cannon (Jr./Rocky Mount, NC) bowled a 162.5 average including a 205 score in Saturday’s win over Chowan. Imani Robinson (So./Burlington, NJ) rolled a 159.8 average.
The Lady Falcons defeated Elizabeth City State University 794-784 and Virginia Union University 721-718 in team matches on Friday. They beat Chowan University 825-824 and Virginia Union University 770-746 on Saturday.
The Lady Falcons lost to Bowie State University 884-760, Chowan University 730-723 and CIAA defending champion Virginia State University 880-697 on Friday. They were defeated by Virginia State 799-763, Elizabeth City State 796-753 and Bowie State 820-718 on Saturday.
The Lady Falcons were 4-6 in team matches. Baker matches were canceled Sunday, February 15, due to inclement weather.
