Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Lounge22, a student-run radio show powered by WAUG, is presenting “Black Love,” an advice show focusing on relationships. This event is a free and will take place in the Prezell R Robinson Library on Feb. 12, at 9 p.m.
The host for this show will be Vena Excell known as “Vena E” Ja’Quan Leary known as “QuanVuitton,” Johnny Newman known as “Jnew” and Christian Roberson known as “Chrissy.”
“The reason Lounge22 chose to have this event is because relationships are the number one topic of discussion on the show,” Leary stated. The show is usually produced inside WAUG studios, but the presentation before a live audience will help promote the show, he said.
“We really want the students to come out and get to know us and see who we really are rather then them just hearing us on the radio,” Leary said.
“Most students on campus don’t even know about WAUG or that the school has a radio station,” Excell added. “We are really looking forward to building our audience and have students engage and interact with us.”
The show will feature a special guest appearances from relationship guru him self “Tru Access” and a special music performance from R&B singer “Mike West.”
