Saint Augustine’s University’s annual open house on Saturday, April 11, drew plenty of students to campus to explore the university. Spring Fling followed, which had plenty for current students, including a bull ride, dunk tank and go karting for people to race around the quad.
The event had less activities than past Spring Flings, for instance there was no inflatable slide nor boxing match. Also, food vendors were missing. While the university’s café did set up a stand outside, there was less variety in food than in the past.
“ I wonder where the vendors are? I’m hungry,” said junior Laquasia Jackson.
But the Open House did end on a high note with a block party at the Falkcrest dorm. A DJ set up in the middle of Falkcrest circle and students crowded around the circle dancing to the music. Students waved their red cups and enjoyed the night breeze as laughter and music filled the night.
“I haven’t seen the school together like this in a while this year,” said Maela Way, a senior.
