RALEIGH, N.C. – Olivia Porter (Jr./Bakersfield, CA) led Saint Augustine’s University with 12 kills, but William Peace University defeated the Lady Falcons 3-0 at Emery Gymnasium in a non-conference volleyball match between neighboring universities on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015.
Juliseea Thomas (Sr./St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) finished with 18 assists and Zoey Isom (Fr./Phoenix, AZ) had 18 digs for the Lady Falcons. Laura Bland registered 10 kills and Liana Solomon totaled 17 assists for William Peace. Kennedey Paine recorded a double-double for Peace with 12 assists and 10 digs.
The Lady Falcons raced out to an early lead in each set. They led 7-3 in the first set, 10-6 in the second set and 11-7 in the third set. Each time, William Peace rallied past the Lady Falcons to claim victory in all three sets. The final scores were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20.
The Lady Falcons fell to 1-3 overall while William Peace improved to 4-2 overall. The Lady Falcons will compete again in a tri-match hosted by Shaw University on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Spaulding Gymnasium. They will face crosstown rival Shaw at 10 a.m. and Allen University at 1 p.m.
