Snow shuts down campus

Snowy, slippery streets has caused cancellations at SAU and all over town.

 

The first snowfall of the season has caused a number of disruptions at Saint Augustine’s University. In addition to all classes being cancelled on Friday, Jan. 22, the adverse weather forced changes in scheduled athletic contests:

The basketball doubleheader between crosstown rivals Saint Augustine’s University and Shaw University scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Emery Gymnasium has been postponed due to inclement weather. The games have been moved to Monday, Feb. 1, at the same site with the women playing at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for the basketball doubleheader are $13 for general admission and $8.50 for faculty, staff, military personal with identification (ID), visiting college students with ID and children ages 6 to 12. The doubleheader is free for Saint Augustine’s University students with ID and children ages 5 and under.

The WSSU Rams 6-Way indoor track and field meet in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Sunday, Jan. 24, has been postponed indefinitely. The CIAA Northern-Southern Bowling Event No. 2 in Rocky Mount, N.C., has been moved from Jan. 22-24 to Feb. 5-7.
