Turning Lemons into Lemonade

Over this past weekend, Beyonce Knowles Carter dropped her latest and most anticipated album “Lemonade”. On April 23, HBO released the album during a special titled after the album. With the visuals and deep lyrics you couldn’t help but be attentive the whole time.

Beyonce wrote and produced the entire album. You can tell that the album provided an emotional outlet for her. Most songs on the album were about infidelities that may have taken place in her relationship.  This by far has been the most revealing album Beyonce has ever released.

It makes one wonder why a celebrity as outwardly successful as Beyonce would hint at her relationship having infidelities. Her husband Jay Z was in her video Pray You Catch Me, a song that express how she would love for him to acknowledge that she knows about his infidelities.

Fans are left much confused on the status of the dynamic power couple relationship status. The album is full of mid tempo songs about denial, anger, apathy, emptiness, accountability, reformation, forgiveness, resurrection, hope, and redemption. Jay Z ‘s presence in the video raised a lot of questions.

Many wondered did he listen to the album prior to the release?

One thing is for certain: Beyonce put her heart and true feeling into this album. The title seems to reflect the saying many of us heard from our parents:  When life throws you lemons, make lemonade.
