Both SAU student-athletes received plaques during the CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which started Sunday. The meet concludes Monday, Feb. 12.
Tshipopo ranks first in the long jump (18-4.25) and is tied for first in the high jump (5-7) in the CIAA. A two-time CIAA Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week winner, Tshipopo is tied for ninth in the high jump in the NCAA Division II national rankings. An accomplished hurdler, Tshipopo ranks second in the CIAA in the 60-meter hurdles.
Exeter ranks first in the triple jump (50-4.75) and fourth in the long jump (22-9) in the CIAA. Nationally, Exeter ranks fifth among NCAA Division II triple jumpers. The Falcons’ All-American was voted CIAA Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week twice this season.
This is the third time Exeter has won CIAA Field Athlete of the Year in his stellar career. He won the honor during the 2017 indoor and outdoor seasons.
