Dreamville was a beautiful experience

J Cole is one of the most popular artists in the industry currently and Dreamville, which was held in downtown Raleigh April 6, was one of the best concert festivals of the year.  Saint Augustine’s University students were lucky to have the concert so close but it is no surprise that J Cole would host the event  in North Carolina, his home state.

The location was Dorothea Dix Park, a very beautiful setting and a nice place for a festival.  Besides the headliner J. Cole, other performers were SZA, Nelly, Teyana Taylor and 6lack.  Even with the great anticipation that had built up, each of their performances was well rehearsed and nicely organized and pleased the crowd.

The environment during the event was so friendly, which I believe was the total outcome that J. Cole was aiming for.  But the highlights of the night were first when SZA came out because she my favorite female vocalist.  The second highlight is when J. Cole brought out a surprise guest, Meek Mill.  I knew then that it was going to end with memorable moment.

Overall the concert was a beautiful experience, especially for my first concert ever.  Hopefully he does a part two because I definitely would go again.
