For Miss SAU, the CIAA Tournament is a major part of her responsibilities. Markyl Wilson has a busy schedule during the school year but her schedule will be even busier for the CIAA week.
During the tournament week, she will be representing the school by going to a number of high school and middle schools throughout the week as well as participating in community service activities. She will be volunteering to give back to the community to stop hunger. She will be attending all of the tournament games.
The week will end with the Miss CIAA Pageant on Super Saturday, Feb. 29. This is when the CIAA queens from each school in the conference come together after a month of voting and promoting to learn who is Miss CIAA. Wilson’s platform has been bringing attention to hunger and food insecurity.
Voting began on Monday, February 3, and ends at 11:59 on Friday, February 27. The voting is unlimited and the queen with the most online votes will be presented with a $2,000 check to the local food pantry in her CIAA community.
