SAU Men’s Basketball visits Virginia Union, Lincoln (PA.) This Week

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 2) – Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) is on the road for two CIAA men’s basketball games this week.

The Falcons venture to Richmond, Va., to take on Virginia Union University on Monday, Feb. 3. Two days later, they head to Lincoln University, Pa., to square off against Lincoln (Pa.) University on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. for both games.

SAU defeated both teams at home last month with both contests designated as non-conference games. This week’s contests will count in the CIAA standings.

The Falcons (3-8 CIAA, 8-13 overall) feature a balanced scoring attack. Six Falcons average over eight points including leading scorer Gary Jefferson (Sr./Baltimore, MD), who averages 13.9 points. Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC) averages 12.5 points and Donte Edwards (So./Durham, NC) averages 8.8 points.

Miguel Brown (Jr./Wilson, NC) averages 8.7 points and Nilous Hodge (So./Charlotte, NC) averages 8.3 points. Karaan Clemonts (Jr./Weldon, NC) averages 8.5 points and is among the CIAA’s top 10 in assists (2.7) and steals (1.5).

Virginia Union (5-4 CIAA, 12-10 overall) is led by Terrell Leach, who is second in the CIAA in scoring (22.8). Zahrian Blue tops Lincoln (3-8 CIAA, 7-16 overall) in scoring (15.1) and Deaquan Williams is the CIAA rebounding leader (11.4) for the Lions.
