RALEIGH, NC (Sept. 11) – Joyce Jepleting (So./Kapsabet, Kenya) led Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) to a second-place finish in the women’s 5K race at the Blue Bear Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 9, at Salisbury Community Park.
Fayetteville State won the women’s race with 28 points followed by SAU with 55 points. Winston-Salem State was third with 66 points, Livingstone placed fourth with 98 points and Central Carolina Community College was fifth with 102 points.
Individually, Vanessa Jones of Winston-Salem State won with a time of 20:37.4 followed by Jepleting with a time of 21:22.2. Ruth Jepkogei (So./Eldoret, Kenya) was sixth in 21:59.6 and Taymar Smith (Fr./Greenville, SC) was eighth in 22.26.7 for the Lady Falcons.
