The weather is warming up and that means it’s time for Spring Fling – the week of concerts, outdoor activities, carnivals, and other activities that allows students one more opportunity for students to unwind and have fun before the end of the academic year.
The countdown begins Sunday, April 16th, with a Silent Headphone party in the Emery Gynamisum. A silent headphone party is people are in a room listening to a variety of music with headphones together. The party is from 9 p.m. to midnight.
On Monday, April 17th, Spring Fling will show that drive-in movies may be a thing of the past but their spirit lives on with an outdoor movie by the tailgate area. The film will start at 7:30 pm. Get some popcorn, sit back and relax and enjoy the show.
The fraternities are hosting a PowderPuff game. A powder puff game is a flag football with girls and boys. The time and location has not been decided at this time.
Students if you have a talent Tuesday is your time to shine. There will be a talent show “Falcons Got Talent” on Tuesday, April 18th. The show will be at the MLK Center upstairs and start at 7:30.
The traditional 1867 Break will be happening on Wednesday, April 19th. There will be drinks, food, and carnival games. The location and time has not been decided at this time. There will be skate night at the United Skates of America from 10 pm to midnight.
Students come with your best dress at the Auggie Awards on Thursday, April 20th. Doors will open at 7:30 pm and the location has not been provided at this time.
On Friday, April 21st, there will be Gym Jam/Stroll off party at the Emery Gymnasium. But the party doesn’t stop there; there will be a midnight breakfast upstairs at the MLK Center. It will go to 2 am., allowing students to enjoy pancakes and waffles.
The week climaxes on Saturday, April 22cd, when there be a cookout on the yard. The event will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cookout will turn into a foam and powder party at 3 p.m.
