The Carolina Association of Black Journalists (CABJ), a collegiate chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), is inviting Saint Augustine’s University students to join other Triangle area students in a multimedia workshop. The workshop is a platform that will give North Carolina college students an opportunity to develop a well planned, well executed digital portfolio.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1. Information and resources distributed at the event are intended for students interested in going into the public relations/communications and broadcast fields.
The workshop will be divided by specialization/concentration. Students will work with professors and industry professionals to develop a digital portfolio or reel for their professional use.
PR students will have the opportunity to create tangible marketing collateral and develop their own professional website to house their portfolio.
Broadcast students will work with professors to understand the pitching, storyboarding, reporting and production processes. They will have the opportunity to do on-air work and produce clips for their reels or portfolios.
Feedback will be given on the work produced that day, as well as work done in the past.
The deadline is midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012. Participants will be selected and notified by Nov. 28, 2012. Selection is based upon a first come, first served basis. There are only 30 spots available.
