Solid colors and basics will always be essential to a wardrobe. Nonetheless, in order to keep your style fresh and exciting, one must be willing and able to switch it up!
If you wear prints, whether they are mixed or the same all over, you will not fade into the background. Prints are not made for the fainthearted and plain Jane’s. Nor are they supposed to be left in the 90s.
Fashion photographer, Cecil Beaton, advises: “Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.”
Have you ever taken too much time deciding what to wear? Yes, you have. We all have had that experience. Maybe the problem is that none of your choices excite you. The solution may be to take a chance and experiment with prints. Getting dressed for the day will soon become an exciting event as opposed to a daily step you dread.
Although prints are fun to mix and match, a color scheme should always be considered. If only one print is being used, then there are no worries. However, if two or more prints are used, one must be able to differentiate warm colors from cool colors, and be mindful of how to appropriately incorporate these prints into one outfit.
Heads will turn when bystanders view the confidence exuding from within while you are wearing prints. Using one’s sense of style is a way to speak volumes without having to say a word.
