Urban Sports & Entertainment Group and ASPiRE Cable Network will team up to televise the Saint Augustine’s University road football contest against Winston-Salem State University on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. For Time Warner Cable subscribers in Raleigh, N.C., the contest is on channels 185 and 1250.
Viewers can also watch the contest locally on digital television. The MeTV network will broadcast game on digital channel 50.2.
After a slow start, the Falcons (2-1 CIAA, 2-4 overall) have picked up momentum, winning two of their last three games. They enter the matchup at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C., tied for second in the Southern Division.
A victory over Winston-Salem State University (3-0 CIAA, 5-1 overall) would move the Falcons into a first-place tie. They face a big test in the Rams, the two-time CIAA defending champions. The Rams are ranked 16th nationally in the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll this week. It is also the Rams’ Homecoming game.
The Falcons have traditionally played the Rams tough. They stunned the nationally-ranked and then-unbeaten Rams 40-35 in 2010 and lost by a narrow margin of 35-28 in 2011. Last season, the Falcons trailed 7-3 at halftime and 14-3 entering the fourth quarter before the Rams pulled away for a 35-17 victory.
