WEST LIBERTY, WVa. – Raheem Jolliffe (Sr./Fayetteville, NC) scored a career-high 27 points for Saint Augustine’s University in a 105-61 non-conference men’s basketball loss to top-ranked West Liberty University in the MEC/CIAA Challenge at the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014.
Jolliffe surpassed his previous career high of 20 points against Johnson C. Smith University in January 2014. The sharpshooting guard was 9 of 18 from the floor including three three-pointers. He also made 6 of 9 free throws.
“Raheem shot the ball extremely well,” SAU Head Coach MarQus Johnson said. “That’s a testament to the hard work he has put in in the offseason.”
Jolliffe was the only double-figure scorer for the Falcons. Damarian Henderson (Redshirt Fr./Goldsboro, NC) added eight points and Darian Allen (Fr./Durham, NC) contributed seven points. Quincy January (Fr./Atlanta, GA) snatched nine rebounds.
Jolliffe’s three-pointer tied the score at 9-9 early, but the Hilltoppers, ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II by several organizations, steadily pulled away for the win.
