Utilizing a full-court press, the Lady Falcons cut a 26-point third-quarter deficit to 14 in the fourth quarter on a 14-2 spurt. Harris drilled a three-pointer and Washington scored on a layup to cap the run. Though the Lady Bulldogs maintained a double-digit lead, the Lady Falcons battled throughout the fourth quarter. In the second half, the Lady Falcons shot 42.9 percent including 50 percent behind the three-point line.
Sycoya Dorsey (Jr./Richmond, VA) added seven points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Lady Falcons (3-10 overall, 0-3 CIAA). Ashanti Reid (Jr./Statesville, NC) also snatched seven rebounds and Lee added two steals.
Kyah Proctor scored 20 points including 18 in the first half to spark the Lady Bulldogs (9-4 overall, 2-1 CIAA) to a sizable first-half lead. The score was tied 4-4 early, but Proctor drained three treys including back-to-back threes in the final minute to put the Lady Bulldogs in front 19-7 at the end of the first quarter.
Kiara Colston contributed 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Ashley Jennings finished with 12 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. She helped the Lady Bulldogs outscore the Lady Falcons 24-7 in second chance points.
The Lady Falcons are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 9, against Lincoln (Pa.) University in Lincoln University, Pa. at 2 p.m. This will be the second of three straight road games against CIAA Northern Division teams.
