ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Saint Augustine’s University finished second in the Southern Division at the CIAA Women’s Bowling Event No. 2 at the Rocky Mount Bowling Center, which concluded Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.
The Lady Falcons knocked down 10,766 total pins and posted a 4-5 mark at the event. Fayetteville State University placed first with 11,808 total pins and a 9-0 mark. Johnson C. Smith University was third with 10,370 total pins and a 4-5 record, and Shaw University placed fourth with 10,494 total pins and a 1-8 mark.
The Lady Falcons were led by Hunter Cannon (Sr./Rocky Mount, NC), who was bowling in her hometown. She rolled a 153.9 average to place seventh in the Southern Division and 16th overall individually.
Imani Robinson (Jr./Burlington, NJ) posted a 151 average which placed her ninth in the Southern Division and 19th overall. ShaKayla Glenn (Jr./Winston-Salem, NC) finished 10th in the Southern Division and 20th overall with a 149 average.
The bowling event started with team matches on Friday, Feb. 5. The Lady Falcons defeated Shaw 737-656 and Johnson C. Smith 813-699. They lost to Fayetteville State 794-700.
On Saturday, Feb. 6, the Lady Falcons beat Shaw 783-716. They lost to Johnson C. Smith 762-712 and Fayetteville State 844-793.
In Baker matches Sunday, the Lady Falcons topped Shaw 737-733. They were defeated by Fayetteville State 784-659 and Johnson C. Smith 686-611.
The Lady Falcons return to action next weekend at the CIAA Round-Up in Fayetteville, N.C., next weekend. The dates are Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14.
