RALEIGH, NC (Sept 25) – On Saturday, Mylene Cannon (Sr./Dallas, TX) and Nikolas Thomas (Fr./Suitland, MD) were Saint Augustine’s University’s top runners at the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, N.C.
Cannon placed 18th out of 46 Division II female runners with a time of 22:34.1. She finished 34th out of 106 women runners overall. Nia Erwin-Sherrod (So./Philadelphia, PA) was 27th in 25:06.5 and Iris Robinson (Fr./Birmingham, AL) was 29th in 25:26.6 among Division II runners in the women’s 5K race.
Thomas placed 30th out of 49 Division II male runners with a time of 33:44.6. He was 67th out of 115 runners overall in the men’s 8K race.
The Lady Falcons were fifth with 148 points and the Falcons placed seventh with 186 points among Division II teams.
Next Saturday, Oct. 1, both teams will compete in the Robert Shumake HBCU Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The men’s 8K race starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by the women’s 5K race at 10:05 a.m.
