Thanks to a win against opponent Livingstone College on Nov. 7 in Salisbury, NC, the Lady Falcons will be one of the teams going to the CIAA tournament Nov. 18-20 in Virginia. The Lady Falcons currently have a 9-12 record and SAU will be seeded fourth in the tournament for the Southern Division.
Students are ready to see their team win it all. “I’ve been supporting the volleyball team at the home games and I know they have been working hard,” said junior business administration major JaQuan Phillips. “Now we as a university really get to see how hard they’ve been working with this upcoming tournament. I feel confident that our girls can bring home the title.”
In the Livingstone match, Akera McPhaul (Jr. /Greensboro, NC) chipped in eight kills and two blocks and Meghan Mahon (Sr./Houston, TX) finished with 40 assists and three service aces, according to the SAU Office of Sports Information. Brittany Jamison (So. /Summerville, SC) totaled four service aces and Marley Parker (Jr./Langley, British Columbia) had two service aces while Zoey Isom (So./Phoenix, AZ) tied Hall with 13 digs.
It was the Lady Falcons’ second victory of the season against Livingstone in volleyball.
