RALEIGH, N.C. (April 7) – Saint Augustine’s University continued its successful start to the outdoor season with five victories in the Bill Carson Invitational track & field meet in Greenville, N.C., on Saturday, April 6.
The Falcons’ men, ranked second nationally in Division II, led the way with wins in four events. Brandon Parris (Sr./Sion Hill, St. Vincent) won the 200 dash in a provisional time of 21.28 and the team of Damere Gilbert (Jr./Sharon Hill, PA), Robert Walker (Jr./Newburgh, NY), Dontarian Evans (Sr./Gainesville, FL) and Devante’ Gardiner (So./Turks & Caicos Islands) won the 4×100 relay in a provisional time of 40.99. Nathan Fergusson (Fr./St. Thomas, Barbados) was victorious in the 400 dash and Shaquille Dill (Sr./Pembroke, Bermuda) crossed the finish line first in the 800 run.
Amanda Crawford (Jr./Brooklyn, NY) sparked the Lady Falcons, ranked seventh nationally in Division II, with a 200 dash victory in a provisional time of 24.08. Danielle Scantlebury (Fr./St. George, Barbados) finished second in the 100 hurdles in a provisional time of 14.03.
Overall, the Falcons and Lady Falcons combined for 32 top 10 finishes at the meet, which was held at Bate Foundation Track and Field Facility on the East Carolina University campus. Below is the list of top 10 SAU competitors and where they placed.
