St. Aug Relay Teams Stand Out In Final Day of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Saint Augustine’s University men’s relay teams held their own on the final day of the Florida Relays at Percy Beard Track on Saturday, April 6, 2013.
The 1600 sprint medley team of Daniel Jameison, Taffawee Johnson, James Quarles (Jr./Washington, D.C.) and Marcelis Lynch (Sr./Stone Mountain, Ga.) was second in 3:18.36, and the 4×800 foursome of Torian Bailey (Fr./Compton, Calif.), Jalen Robinson-McCoy (Fr./Springdale, Md.), Jameel Walcott (Sr./Trinidad & Tobaco, West Indies) and Lynch was third in 7:25.30.
The 4×200 quartet of Josh Edmonds (Jr./Jacksonville, Fla.), Burkheart Ellis, Jr. (Fr./Raleigh, N.C.), Johnson and Jermaine Jones (Soph./Wilmington, N.C.) finished third in 1:22.42, and the 4×100 group of Ramaan Ansley (Sr./Philadelphia, Pa,) , Johnson, Ellis, Jr. and Jones was fourth in 39.46. The 4×400 team of Edmonds, Quarles, Ellis, Jr. and Dane Hyatt (Jr./Goodwill, Jamaica) placed fifth in 3:06.88.
In the high jump, Eddie Shelton (Jr./Deltona, Fla.) leaped 6-11 to place sixth.
